Boasting 4,350 feet vertical drop and 36 lifts there’s plenty of room to play. Whether you’re an advanced thrill seeker or just learning, everyone will find a winter sport experience at their level.

Get Active in the Warmer Months
There’s a wide range of options for those looking to get active in the warmer months. Fishing, golfing, hiking, mountain biking, horse back riding & tours, rock climbing, ziplines & chairlift rides, water sports, motor sports, birding, and visiting Yellow Stone National Park.
Golf — The Newest Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course Moonlight Basin at Big Sky—8,000 Yards long, Elevation 7,500 feet, Longest Hole 777 yards
Fish — Some of the best fly fishing in the country (Gallatin River, Madison River, etc.) all at your back door or down the road.
Hike — Beehive Basin is a popular hike. You can hike from the front door along the Summit View neighborhood trail which connects to upper Beehive Basin Trail. The Summit View neighborhood trail follows a mountain stream that can be crossed several times on log bridges. Afterwards, sit on the deck and enjoy a cold drink and the amazing views.
Rock Climbing — there are two rock climbing walls: one at the resort and the other at Geyser Whitewater. Lots of places for trad as well: Gallatin Tower, The Waltz and Black Line Buttress.
Whitewater Rafting — the Gallatin River has some fun spots for the advanced thrill seekers—there are class II and III rapids.
Kayak, Canoe Rental & SUP — there are a few places you can rent either in a river or lakes—Lake Levinsky (Canoeing and SUPing) and Hebgen Lake (Sea Kayaking). All experience levels will find something just right for you.
Horseback Rides — Jake’s Horses or Lone Mountain Ranch (call and reserve early if you choose Lone Mountain Ranch as they fill with their own guests first)
Mountain Biking — For the advanced and novice there are lots of options. There are lift-accessible mountain biking at Big Sky Resort.
Visit Yellowstone — Of course, there is the amazing Yellowstone National Park, just an hour away.
Zip Lines & Chair Lift Rides — both are unique ways to see the expansive scenic views just above the treetops.
Motorcycle Rental & Tours — Ride the Madison Valley or Paradise Valley Loops. Or do both and do some site seeing, eat some great food, hear live music, or soak in the hot springs.

Relax with the Family Spring, Summer & Fall
If you’re here to relax you’ve also come to the right place. This home has 360 awe-inspiring views all year around. From the mountain peaks to the resort village—you won’t be disappointed. You can enjoy leisurely walks on the local trails, dip your toes in one of three lakes or float down a lazy river.
See Nature like never before — Visit the Grizzly Bear and Wolf Center in West Yellowstone. Lots of cool animal facts and the admission supports animals that can never be released back into the wild. See wolf packs up close from a safe vantage point—this is truly a discovery center that will not disappoint.
Eat Out — Visit Bozeman, restaurants, cute downtown shops on main street
Visit a Museum —see our great dinosaur and much more museum “Museum of the Rockies”.
Local Towns — Ennis, Montana is great for fishing or shopping. Visit Virginia City- for more shops and take a tour of an old silver mine.
Farmer’s Market — On Wednesday evening, visit the fun Farmers Market in Big Sky Meadows. Fresh produce and local art and crafts as well as jams, jellies and a gift for your favorite dog or cat!
Live Music — On Thursday nights, attend the free concert in the park by Big Sky Meadows. Grab the sling lawn chairs (in the garage) and take the whole family to the park for free music. Plan to eat in the park as there are several food trucks and it’s fun!
Family Friendly Hike — the paved Ousel Falls Trail close to Big Sky Meadows. Great for little ones when you want to use a stroller.
Lazy River — slower “nature” cruise on the Gallatin. Inner tube the Madison- that requires a bit of set up but is super fun if you have time.
Pedal Boats — rent a pedal boat and take in the views.
