Whether you love to ski or snowboard at an elevation of 11,166 feet with an 400 inches annual snowfall Big Sky is a big favorite and the largest ski resort in North America. Boasting 36 Lifts and 4,350 feet vertical drop you will be thrilled with the options—for the advanced the beginner, all levels will have a blast.

And there’s more beyond the slopes—you’ll find groomed Cross Country Ski trails on the property. For the motor sport lovers there’s snow mobile rental near by with trails nice and close to the property.

Enjoy the beauty of Big Sky, Montana while golfing, fishing, hiking, horse back riding, mountain bike riding, water sports, and many other activities.

  • The Newest Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course Moonlight Basin at Big Sky —› an impressive 8,000 yards long  at an elevation of 7,500 feet. The longest hole is a marvelously scenic 777 yards. 

  • River & lake fishing! In fact, some of the best fly fishing in the country (Gallatin River, Madison River, etc. ) at your back door or down the road.

  • Trail and mountain bicycling on over 40 miles of trails from the Mountain Village and the area's only lift-accessible downhill trails via the Swift Current, Ramcharger, and Explorer lifts.

  • Horse and riding equipment rental on the property.

  • Kayak, canoe and SUP rental and tours for casual water activities, scenic rafting or class II and III rapids for the adventurous thrill seekers.

Relax with Family in the Warmer Months

Big Sky is a wonderful place for a family vacation. There’s family friendly hiking, chairlift rides, paddle boats, indoor pool, and game room.

  • See wildlife up close at the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. This non-for-profit rescues bears, wolves, raptors and others that can’t survive in their natural habit—giving us an opportunity to see them both inside and outside—and always from a safe vantage point. This is truly a discovery center. From observation stations you will see the wonderfully complex dynamics of wolves and grizzlies as only their natural environment could inspire.

  • Relaxing hikes with the family through beautiful trails featuring waterfalls and awe inspiring views.

  • Chairlift rides are a fun way to see the valley. Take in the beauty and breathe in the fresh mountain air while you glide through the air high above the trees.

  • Paddle boats on Lake Levinsky is a soothing way to experience the breath-taking views and observe the serene sounds of nature on the water.

  • Bird watching is a fantastic way to experience this beautiful part of the country. Montana is home to over 400 species of birds.
